Transition Time at Omnipresence Children Northampton Nursery

As a Parent, do you find the thought of your child transitioning from one room to another or from nursery to school scary or daunting?

During this time of year, it is normal to have your thoughts and focus start turning towards the end of the academic year. As a busy Northampton Nursery, we have notice over the years parents often comment that they don’t think their little ones will ever be ready for school. And they wish they could stay for longer before transitioning to school.

Transitioning from one room to another or from nursery to school – scary or exciting?

At Omnipresence Nursery Northampton, we are on this journey with you and your child / children working with you to support both child and parent with everything we can to ensure you and your child is ready to transition onwards.

Whether that is moving up from the little cherub’s room into little angels or the wise owls’ rooms or from wise owls to primary school transition.

Any change can be overwhelming for both child and parents; however, we make sure the process is gradual and explained and supported all along the way.

Our nursery settings in Northampton – operate three separate rooms for different ages and transition stages of learning and play.

Little Cherubs

  • Children in our baby rooms from 3 months to around 18 – 24 months. This ensures they are given the care they need with separate feeding, changing and sleeping areas. As they naturally develop into toddlers their routines are adapted accordingly – less sleep, more learning and playtime! By the time a child is nearing their 2nd birthday they spend some time in the Little Angels room room so when they make the move, it already feels familiar for safe learning and playtime.

Little Angels

  • Children in our Little Angel Room from 24 to 36 months. During this period, there is a lot of change in the children’s development, especially in terms of their communication and physical development. Many children are ready to be potty trained during this time. Your child’s key-worker will, at all stages, work closely with parents to ensure everyone knows where your child is on their development path. As children near 36 months they are ready for new challenges – mentally and physically and they spend time with the pre-schoolers to prepare them for this.

Wise Owls

  • Our Wise Owls rooms are facilitated with many different areas for role-play fun, young adult led games, messy activities, exploration, wise owl library area, movie and cosy areas, writing tables and home corner for learning and play.

Everything we do is geared towards learning through play and discovery and our pre-school key workers liaise closely with local schools to ensure the transition up to ‘big-school’ is as smooth as it can be.

Our Nursery Northampton Key-workers, support and collaborate with parents to ensure your child is given the support they personally need at every step of their journey with Omnipresence Children Nursery school. When the time comes to move up to primary school or reception classes it is a natural progression of learning and discovery for them.

If you have any concerns at any time about your child’s transition here at Omnipresence Nursery Northampton, we would always invite you to talk to your child’s nursery key-worker, we are more than happy to help.
